PURNABHISHEKA DEEKSHA

DEEKSHAA

दिव्यज्ञानं यतो ददाति पापक्षयं करोति च।

तस्माद् दीक्षेति सा प्रोक्ता सर्वतन्त्रेषु सम्मता॥

divyajñānaṃ yato dadāti pāpakṣayaṃ karoti ca |

tasmād dīkṣeti sā proktā sarvatantreṣu sammatā ||

“Because it bestows divine knowledge and brings about the destruction of sin, therefore it is called diksha; it is accepted in all tantras.”

Above lines are taken from the great Tantra scripture of “Vishwasaara Tantra, said to be the source text for very popular “Guru Geeta”.  This great tantric text is lost, but survived through such citations.

It is very unfortunate that, the very authentic text on Srividya, “Parasurama Kalpa sutra”, is also lost. What we read now in the name of this ancient text is a part of it or distorted version of it. However, this not the subject of this article.

One who provide knowledge is Guru and the other one who receives it, is disciple. This needs no explanation at all.

Relation between these two is created by “DEEKSHA” which may be termed as the best activity of universe 

“The best activity of the universe is Deeksha”

Tantra world recognizes the significance of the fact that Deeksha not only provides the divine knowledge but besides it, it finishes the evil of our karmas. It is also warning and challenge to us that if we take Deeksha, what are its parameters? What is called Diksha? Is the person who is providing it, is competent enough to do that procedure or not. Our great masters imbibed tantra inside them, and gave us the insight to recognize them, but we never paid attention.

Now, in the present time, either we are fearful about the tantra Deeksha or we are victim of fraud committed in the name of Tantra Deeksha.

Why so?

Ignorance about it, or not paying attention to it by us. We don’t know what Tantra is, and hence if someone says this is tantra, we will accept it and if some other says that is tantra we will accept that too. But we never tried and never shown courage to move forward and know what is right and what is wrong. In this manner, Tantra has only become subject of tea time discussions among those people who do not even know about ‘T’ of Tantra.

Our great Maharishis put their life under danger and kept on acquiring knowledge, faced lot of troubles in their life and with brave heart faced all the challenges so that they can keep this system alive for society.

We should be indebted to them and do everything possible to keep Guru Shishya tradition is kept in tact and pass on to our next generation.

 It is our responsibility to put forward the right knowledge and right manner.

There is no fault of any tantra. It is the persons who misuse the name of tantra and name of Guru for selfishness. We should stand in front of world with head held high and say that Tantra is truth, Deeksha is truth and nobody can deceive us. Disciple is lucky to provide assistance to Guru and thus keep the tradition is alive for our next generation.

Only the Guru who has attained the state of detachment in attachment can do the Poornabhishek.  It is not that simple as pouring water from the Kumbh. Any way this article cannot discuss the process of Purnabhishek.

Purnabhishek Deeksha gives the disciple a new birth. A disciple who does not know this or not able to realise this,is not fit for Purnabhishek Deeksha.
