Soundarya Lahari Series (Article 22) : Verse 20 – “Finding the heart lot” – Written by Hema

WORD FOR WORD

Kirantim ange bhyah – as emanating nectar out of your limbs all around

Kirana nikurambo amrta hrdi – gathered to his heart the radiating essence of immortal bliss

Tvam addhatte – he who can bring You

Hima kara shila murtim – like a moonstone made image

Sa sarpanam darpam shamayati – can quell the pride of serpents

Shakunta dhipa iva – like the King of Birds

Jvara plushtan – a fever patient

Drshtya sukhayati – cures by very look

Sudha dhara siraya – of ambrosial streak.

Shakara bhagavadpada talks about meditation on Devi’s form emitting the rays of light which is sculpted on moonstone which is very brilliant and lustrous. On that, nectar flowing from her body are the rays from her body. One who meditates in her heart and imagines her Murthy. The rays emitted from the Murthy are the nectar flowing. He can cure the fever that is the thapa of anything. Just by a mere glance, the thapa is a cure that is nothing but atmasakshatkara. The blood flows in the veins and nerves. Nectar of awareness of Brahman, universal consciousness flows in the nadis, from the top of the head to the toes. The power of pure awareness, true knowledge takes the form of Nadi. When we hear about Nadi, Shakanra said that meditation in one’s heart is especially important.

When doing dhyana at Anahata in the heart. From there the Nadi or nectar flows which induce a type of heat in the body of a person who has awakened that..

Within the heart, there is a point that contracts and expands the heart. The experience of the energy triggers a mighty surge of energy in the sadhaka. It is a jolt when electricity does it, in the same way, serge can take place in the brain during meditation. That serge is neither electrical nor magnetic but it is the electron. It is also spiritual, which means a surge of awareness happens. This happens in Anahata. The experience of this is great and awesome. Any sadhaka can experience it, the problem with this kind is that we doubt it. Spirituality is adyatma which is not logic or intellect. It cannot be explained or measured. To understand and experience something it can only be done by logic and intellect. This surge completely alters the circuits of the brain which gives rise to an experience that differs from individual to individual. One may feel fear anxiety or nervousness at that surge. Even one can see himself lying dead, it was the case of Ramana Maharshi before he left for Tiruvannamalai. That made him instantaneously experience himself as a dead person. He was the Shaakshi of his own self. The state of lying dead is witnessed by himself. Before that Ramana was thinking, if he was lying dead who is sitting and watching, It occurred spontaneously, One has to just flow with the tide. The nectar of the energy creates the surge that flows from the form on the Devi and when seen as a sculptor the Devi. 

It helps in killing fever or expelling the poison. One must meditate in Devi by whom Ambrosia is flowing. She is cool and bright and one should meditate on her Murthy molded with Chandra Kantha shila. It also talks about Gruda and at that time the entire nadis amrutha will be flowing in it. If a person can get to that stage where all his nadis are filled with ambrosia, the glance of such a person’s fever would banish.

And he talks about Garuda prayoga. 20th Nama itself is Garuda prayoga and he talks about Garuda mantra. 

Garuda mantra: There are two three mantras.One is to stop the Visha stambhana and Dahana.

Vishu Samharini.

We need sthambhana now. 

Chanting procedure and Nivedyam( offerings to the Lord) : If one chants this verse 1000 times every day for 25 days, and offers milk payasam as nivedhyam , one can achieve victory in love.
