The devatas have consumed nectar so that it gives them amaratva. Even after consuming the nectar, all divine beings perish when it is time for cosmic dissolution. O Mother! your consort Shiva is not destroyed by time. What did he consume? He swallowed the deadly poison during the Samudra Manthan. Janani Shiva Tatanka Mahima, It is because of the greatness of your ear ornaments. The reference is given to Supreme consciousness, the only abiding principle of shakti as everything undergoes death and dissolution even the devatas that have consumed nectar. This indicates the abiding nature of the relationship with Shiva. Shakti’s conjugal relationship with Shiva, that Shiva and shakti are essentially a homogenous tattva. Just as husband and wife are considered as one unite. They are not considered as two. These two principles are of Supreme reality but they are one. This mantra has an important reference to healing and rejuvenates the imbalances in us by correcting us. The benefit is that it removes all the ailments. What seems to be two is one and it cures all the ailments which are mental, physical, and spiritual ailments. What is a spiritual ailment? The spiritual ailment is not clearly knowing where we are leading too. Once the path is known in spirituality, the ailment is cured. Sometimes I feel that Spiritual ailment is confusion as to which path needs to be taken. It is done through a Guru that a spiritual ailment can be cured. It needs her Krupa and grace to cure it. Amba! please cure us with our spiritual ailment.
