– In your Muladhara (source, basis, horizontal firmness)
– Accompanied by Samaya (female counterpart)
– Absorbed always in Lasya (the horizontal dance, wavelength)
– I think of the new-born Self
– The great dancer of the nine artistic factors (love, mercy, heroism, humour, agony (tragic), terrifying, macabre, wonder, “shantam”- peaceful – the whole gamut – art must be represented at the lowest-level chakra)
– Of these two
– Considering the law of resurrection
– Each one (thus) having a consort
– Become
– By way of father and mother
– This phenomenal universe (something in flux)
Soundarya Lahari is divided into two parts Anandalahari and Soundarya Lahari. 1-49 are called Anandalahari and 50 and above verses are called Soundarya lahari. Shankara experiences Devi’s physical beauty. In verse 40 we have learned about Manipura. Verse 41 talks about Muladhara. The name does not matter. What is needed is the experience of energy at Muladhara. Mahatandava nrutya is in the company of Devi who is called Samaya and her form of dance is Lasya. Shankara is experiencing it in Muladhara. The Bramhanda has come to father and mother. Father and mother have come together for the regeneration. Bhagavati! Laasyapriyaa Layakari Lajjaa Rambhaadi Vanditaa. Amma, you appear to get excited when you are in Muladhara and perform Lasya along with Mahatandava nritya with Mahatandava nataraja with Mahashiva. The basic chakra, bhuloka from which invariably various beings as per their Samaya are all engaged in sinful acts and get oriented to Narakas. That is why Shiva and shakti, Universal parents are born to make sins as your children, and as parents, you have great concerns for us. This is due to Adishad Vargas. As universal parents, you guide us and help us to balance the universe in what is right and what is wrong. Our parents have offered ample opportunities to seek the realization of truth and to help us to come out of Maya. If Devi also assumes tranquility or Shanta, it may cease to display vibrations and paramacharya explains about Navatma and Samaya. She is Lasyapriye and Mahanatta ( mega dancer). For him to perform the mega dance for Parameshwari. It is all her doing. It is her doing, she makes him dance. She joins gracefully and tenderly. The moment one starts to dance with the graceful moving of hands and legs, all the vibrations, Ecstacy, sorrow, happiness and should experience that in Muladhara. We can think of planets that give us ecstatic experience, that is the tandava of Shiva-Shakti. It is happening around every second. When the wind blows pleasantly it affects us. Full moon bathes the earth in its light. The same moonlight gives us differents feeling one is Shrungara and the other is Viraha vedana. The ananda Bhairava dancing together depicting navarasas, he performs Mahatandava and she is the Lasya. The reference is the Mahasamhara tandava by Shiva. She is sakshini, Shiva destroys everything, and Ambal showers her blessing to us to restart everything again. The mood of navatma is passing phase while ananda is ananda bhairavi and ananda bhairava is permanent. Kanchiparamacharya looks at samhara from a different perspective as an act of kindness. When we think about Paramashiva and Parashkati as parents we are provided with everything. They are our guardians. He protects all of us like the head of the family. She is Dakshayini who remains submissive to him. They are both the same and protect each other and protect us. Together they are braded in each relationship. This Anandalahari section up to 41 concludes with the father and mother who give us birth and lead us to liberation. Why should a small child bother, what difficulty do parents go through to take care of them. It totally depends on parents and can’t we depend on that. We have intellect and logic to fall upon and we have thinking capacity, rational thinking, and the easiest way is to become a child to take care of us. The beauty of the experience is Tandava nrutya of Shiva and Lasya nrutya of Devi. What is the Tandava Nrutya and What is Lasya? It is as long as Tandava and Lasya continue, the universe exists. The tandava and Lasya are making the creation of everything, For both creation and sustenance. If Tandava and Lasya are not present then there is no creation of the universe. From the scientific point of view, The universe is not just the earth but the galaxy. So many planets, stars, sun, and moon, all these functions in a unique fashion. All these celestial bodies are moving on their own axis. This is happening in a precise manner.  How is the movement happening? There is a specific and mutual attraction between them that makes them move in the same manner with utmost precision. The gravitational energy is also present in a celestial manner. This is what we call Shiva tandava and Lasya. The energy and power and simply witness the tandava or Shiva which means that annihilation and Thirodhana and it gets back to its unmanifest form. Humans take birth, from seeds we can see plants sprouts. This is Shiva Tandava and Lasya nrutya by Devi. The moment she becomes Mahatandavasakshini there is Thirodhana. The continuous process of creation and sustenance is happening. In medical science, we call it Metabolism. Each and every cell breaks once they are build and sustained and new cells form again. Because of the metabolic activity itself are Shiva Tandava and Lasya nrutya. At the human level of Muladhara, there is only thirodhana. This is experienced by Shankara. We are living and they are sustaining. That is becasue of Shiva tandava nrutya and Lasya nrutya continuosly happening. Shiva Parvati dance is called cosmic dance. Ananda Lahari is stops at Muladhara. Dharuka was a rakshasa who chased all divinities from place to place and he had secured a boon that no Purusha or female can distroy him. Whole universe was in tremor which means nothing was in order. They were all behaving very strangely. With this Dharuka creation and sustanance was disturbed. All went in the feminine form and they approached Mahadeva. Pragna smiled at Parvati and Adipurusha and Adipurusha were in visual forms.Mahadeva or Shiva asked Parvati to tranform his masculine form into her. Parvati entered Shiva’s third eye with extraordinary poison and assumed a frighful dark complexion. The kaumari Shiva of feminine form got emrged throwing fiery flames that could as well destroy everything. The asuras and dhanavas with a merely glimse of her smile thundered and thousdans of them perished. She had Trishula and poison in her throat and Dharuka fell to his death. This is a place called Dharuka vana. One of the jyotirlingas called Nageshwara where Dharuka was killed. Shiva took the form of Dakshinamurthy. All his soldiers were killed and anger was not controlled. And Shiva was thinking of how to control her wrath and Shiva took the form of a toddler. Devi fondled the toddler and feed him with his breast milk. All the rage came out of the breast milk and Shiva sucked it. Even though Devi recovered but she fainted and Shiva performed a Tandava. The cosmic dance was to bring Devi back.  From this Tandava Ashta Kshetra, palakas emerged and they started dancing as well and Devi regained her strength and joined the Shiva Tandava to reverberate the universe. The fourth Veda is called by Atharva hence it is called atharvana Veda. A form that we can imagine of Shiva, Shiva’s eyes are the bramhanda itself, Agnijwla that is thumping from his feet. Bramhavadins have experienced this with their inner eyes. At that time Mahadeva was Maharudra along with yogis, munis prostrated with hands folded kept on their head and Narayana also. All witnessed the celestial scenes and they are all dhanya where tandava was intense and there were echoes of Omakara and chanting. Proper pronunciation of Omakara is very important. This is all from Kurma Purana. One should experience the tandava in Muladhara. It is not dormant, it is vibrating there.All devatas have the vision of the thunder, they pray to eshwara who is Purana Purusha, Praneshwara, Anantha yoga rupa, hrudyanisihta, Prachetha, who is in charge of everything and he is Bramhamaya and Bramhamaaya also, Shanta, Achala ( no moment). You are Nirmala. Almost pure and nothing more than pure, swarnaswaroopa.You are para and Tatpara, creator of Samsara, you are the form of an atom, you are minutest and grossest, you are Bramha and Hiranyagarbha. You are the shrustha of the universe. You are the Vedotpanna. Creator of all Vedas or he came from Vedas and we are witnessing your dance in the center of the sky. Witnessing the cosmic dance in the hrudaya Aakasha.  You are Jagat Karana, lord of the universe, we can enjoy glimpses of your profile. Your Omkara Vachaka, the seed of liberation and this Omkara vachaka is secretly absorbed in Prakriti( Devi). Sages, saints call you as Satya swaroopa, swayam prakasha. All rishi ganans are engaged in commending you. They enter into the glow of your profile. All branches of Vedas and scriptures. The uniqueness of your mahatma, ekarupa also Maharopa. You are infinite than other roopas, all these help us to seek protection and security from you. Any prayer that does not result in contentment is no prayer at all. O Eeshwara! you are anadi and illumination. You are parameshti and varishta. We seek refuge in you. You are one, you are advvitiya, prana, Rudra, dhata, and Aditya, and the list goes on. You are Ananya and  Avayaya, shashwata, Dharma Raksha, Vishnu, prakriti. Oh, Maha Rudra you are addressed as Purana Purusha, Aditya Varna, Thamoguna thitha, and other names. It is because of you Mahadeva all the tatvas are displayed. All salutations to you.  What has been mentioned in Puranas, thought of you approves the seed of karma and the cycle of Janma Mruthyu to regulates the deeds of mind and thoughts. Even one thought about Maheshwara will take one step forward towards him.It is the dance of Pragna and Shakti, Shiva-Shakti, Tandava, and Shakti. If we continue the Lasya and Tandava, there is no end for it. Tandava and Lasya do not stop till the Brmhanda gets to its position as Devi are Unmanifested. Shiva tandava and Devi’s Lasya. With keeping the Bramhanda intact and also keep the Pindanda intact , all of us are sustaining. All this is nothing but Tandava and Lasya of Shiva-Shakti. If we can understand that the experience becomes simple. All this is the result and affect of Tandava- Lasya within ourselves in Muladhara becomes very simple. Shankara Bhagavadpadha has experienced from Ajna to Muladhara. This is the last mantra in AnandaLahari. Ananda Lahari has explained us and Shankara has taught us, his experience of her subtle form and later in the last six forms, he has conveyed his experience in Subtelest form.
Chanting procedure and Nivedyam (offerings to the Lord) : If one chants this verse 4000 times a day for 30 days, offering honey,pongalas prasadam, it is said that one would overcome sexual diseases.
